Freddy Paske is an award-winning figurative artist focusing on the relationship between what is shown and what is seen.
The natural world is his source of inspiration.
It is impossible for our eyes to function like a camera, instantly capturing every detail. Instead, our minds fill in the gaps, constructing what we perceive. As we grow older and become more familiar with our surroundings, we unconsciously ‘see’ less, relying more on memory and assumption.
Freddy explores this complex relationship between the eye and the mind by playing with what is seen and what is left unseen. His use of bold shapes and colors suggests details rather than explicitly depicting them. Through loose gestures, rich pigments, and varied textures, he invites the viewer to actively engage in a playful interpretation of the familiar.
